THIS POEM NEEDS A NAME and ps this is *NOT* stupid
We trust him with protecting our nation but think we can't trust him with our stuff We ask him to be willing to die for us but rarely ask him to come over for a meal We ask him to leave his family and protect ours but don't offer to watch his children We require many things of him but offer him not even a "Thank you" We know of him but unless he has touched us personally odds are we don't really know him We say that it's okay we don't know him because he doesn't know us but it is not his duty to know everyone he protects Who is this stranger? This stranger is the one died to protect your right to protest at his funeral this stranger is the American Soldier. Next time you see this stranger shake his hand and say "Thank you"
