How can it be true

Ever since I heard it late Monday night I've been wondering how it can be true, how can you really be gone? You were fine, nothing wrong, healthiest one in the bunch and now your just gone! I'll never get to hear you sing again, you won't be there when I get married, my kids will never be put to sleep in a matter of minutes by your magic touch. Just saying the words.... I can't do it, it can't be true can it? No this is just a cruel joke, well that's what I was hoping until the arrangements were made, it's not a cruel joke. My grandfather is dead. I guess I should try to think of all the goods times I had with him, but every time I do I just think "well my children won't get that" or "my niece and nephew won't ever get that." I got see him smile at me when I graduated high school, my brother won't get that. I have so many wonderful memories of an amazing man. I just wish he was still here to make more, but God knows why He nee...

Sprint Unlimited

It's hard to talk about Daytona without talking about Dale Earnhardt....with 37 wins between the two top series at the track he was synonymous with Daytona. BUT my goal here is not to talk about any one driver in the first post(the next one is on the duels where I will focus on a driver) my goal here is to talk about the race...the first race of the year...the race for pole winners...the race formally known as the Bud Shootout but now known as the Sprint Unlimited. History: Before you think this is gonna be some kinda report it's not...just some information. Originally called the Busch Clash, then the Budweiser shootout, now the Sprint Unlimited, this is the race for drivers who have won poles in the previous year or have won this race before. There are no points awarded for this race...just money. The format has changed over the years, as has the way to qualify for the race, but this year they have gone back to basics for qualifying for this race. Past winners: This is ...

2013 NASCAR Cup Schedule

Image
Here we go, I will update with the times as they are released, BUT, here is the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule.... I figured for this year the only thing that made any sense for the 1st post was the most famous tweet this year. This of course is the famous tweet from Brad Keselowski during the red flag during the Daytona 500 2/16/2013-- Sprint Unlimited --8 p.m.-- Daytona International Speedway-- Non-points-- Last years winner-- Kyle Busch (T.V. Fox) 2/21/2013-- Budweiser Duel 1-- 2 p.m.-- Daytona International Speedway-- Non-points-- Last years winner-- Tony Stewart (T.V. Ideas for next year

I have been trying to figure out ways to post more on here; and I don't mean just like "Hi I'm still here" posts so I was thinking I would take my love for NASCAR, my knowledge of the sports history, and this seasons schedule(hopefully with some interesting twists and turns) and do some(hopefully)interesting posts. So the plan right now is shortly after the first of the year I will have a post with the entire NASCAR Cup schedule which will include the date, track, whether it is a points race or not, the defending winner, and(when possible) the race name. Then, before each race I plan on a "history post" where I will pull a race from the NASCAR archives either on the date, or at the track. After the race I will do a recap post, where I will talk about the race, with highlights on the winner, whoever ran good but didn't get the win, and possibly the driver who didn't perform to their capabilities. That's what the plans for next year are; your feedb...

In case you were curious

In case anyone who reads my Twitter or facebook is curious what is wrong with my wrist I'll let you know. In April of 2010, on a Friday, I was rollerskating and fell with my left hand stretched out, that resulted in my elbow and shoulder getting "jammed" and I thought that is all that had happened to my wrist, the following Monday I had a Dr's appointment so I brought up the fact that I had fallen and the Dr decided to take some X-rays and make sure nothing was broken; it was determined then that I had not broken my wrist but just sprained it, the treatment method was to take anti-inflammatory medicine and wear a brace on my arm for 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks my wrist was still bothering me so my primary care doctor referred me to an orthopedic doctor. The orthopedic doctor took another set of X-rays and said that he showed no broken bones and that I should try physical therapy. I went through a 6 week course of physical therapy designed for the hand and wrist, the ...

Places I want to see

First of all big thanks to @OneMenz (Joe Menzer) who gave me the idea with a conversation he was having with someone on Twitter. The list that I'm gonna put on the this post is not EVERY place I want to see put the ones that I would REALLY REALLY like to see before I die.  The Grand Ole Opry(won't really matter who is singing)  Hawaii  Italy  France  Some of the countries my family came from(There are so many that I can't remember them all)  Washington D.C  The Golden Gate Bridge(I'm a sucker for landmarks)  The Grand Canyon  Feel free to add anything you think would be cool for me to see either when I'm at one of these sights or on the way. :)

Finally & Forever

I just finished what is supposed to be the final book in the Katie Weldon Series, which follows the Christy Miller, Seria Jensen, and Todd and Christy series', and the only thing I didn't really like about the book was the ending which seemed, to me at least, to be a hanging ending but other than the ending the book did wrap up a lot of the loose ends from the one before this. That's all for now, more to come as a read more books and see more stuff!

Books I'm reading this summer

OK I've been reading since I was four years old and I've been reading pretty much anything I could get my hands on, mostly Christian fiction and some bio and racing books. This summer I will be reading what is supposed to be the final book in the Katie Weldon series called Finally and Forever I plan to read Darrell Waltrip's book Sundays Will Never Be The Same and I will probably re-read Driver #8 and Jade Gurss' book In The Red . This list is a living list and I will probably update with new books or re-reads on a semi regular basis and give reviews on the books as well.

Just a Thought

While watching something on Speed, I think, earlier this week there was a clip of the #2 Miller car and the #3 Goodwrench car and my brother, who is only 12 years old, asked me "Has Kaze(he meant Keze, which is what I call Keseloski sometimes) had ever raced Dale Earnhardt Sr.?" at first I said "who?" and I as soon as I figured out who he was talking about I told him no the Keze had never raced against Dale Sr. his next question was "Then who was in the #2?" and after I told him it was Rusty Wallace I got to thinking to the cars really look THAT different than they used to? I mean sure the cars themselves look different than they did when Rusty and Dale Sr. were driving but the paint schemes and numbers don't really look that different if you disagree then let me know

11 days!!!!!!

In eleven days the NASCAR season will officially begin and I will be one of the 150k there to watch the race. How many different ways are there to say excited? Well I'm not sure but I think I fall under most of them. Anyway in my last post promised more info on how I got my tickets for free and my pics to win the race, so here goes ; tickets first, Toyota is, for the first time ever, going to have the pace car in the race, so to celebrate this they gave away (I think) 500 sets of tickets to the Daytona 500 and I won one of the sets of tickets. Now for my picks on who will win the race (not scientific in anyway please to not blame me if you make a bet based on my predictions and lose) I think it may finally be Dale Earnhardt JR 's turn to do something his father didn't do, and that would be become a two time winner of the Daytona 500 and if Dale JR does win the Daytona 500 he would be the driver the bring Rick Hendrick his 200th cup win as an owner, as well as break a losing...

Really Cool, Really Big News

Image
Pictured here is one of my two tickets to THE DAYTONA 500 . The coolest part about the tickets is that I got them for free!!! I won a contest put on by Toyota Racing, so I get to go to the 54th annual Daytona 500 for free! My picks for who will win will come in a later post, but for now I just wanted to share one of the coolest things to happen to me

Perspective it can be amazing

This past Tuesday(12/20/11) I went to the zoo with my great grandmother, my aunt, my aunt's cousin, and five of my cousins, including my five-year-old twin cousins, I say the part about my five-year-old cousins because that is really the most important part. While we were at the zoo I was taking pictures of, well, everything and when we stopped in the Japanese garden at our zoo, complete with a coy pond, one of my five-year-old cousins asked my if he could take some pictures with my camera, so I gave him my camera and he had the camera for about the next twenty-thirty minutes. Now, I stand around 5'5" tall, my cousin stands about 3'5" tall, so the pictures I was taking were quite a bit higher than the ones my cousin was taking, the only time all day I was down at his level was when I took his twin brother into the bird house and he was showing me the squirrels(not sure that's the right word.) Above are some of the picture my cousin took, along with a few of th...

been silent for a while

So y'all may have noticed that I have been silent on Facebook and my blog for the last little bit, the reason is that I have just been busy, between work, school, church, and homework there aren't really that many hours left in any given week. This semester I have Speech, Introduction to Education, Class Piano 1, ASL1, and Drawing 1 A little NASCAR for you, Tony Stewart will be crowned the Nextel Cup Champion for the third time in his career, but the only reason that they say he has three Nextel Cup championships is because they like to call each champion under the current name of the series, for example they say that Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt have seven Nextel cup championships even though Nextel didn't take over sponsorship for the cup series until 2006, any way Tony Stewart was the last guy not named Jimmie Johnson to win a title which he won in 2005 and before that he was one of the last two guys to win the Winston Cup championship which he won in 2002. One NASCA...

The #3, Childress, Big E, and Austin Dillon

What's in a number? For some nothing at all, for others everything. Some people see nothing in a number but a digit or an age, others see a driver or football/baseball/hockey/basketball player. The number I am referring to is the # 3 made famous by Dale Earnhardt Sr. in the NASCAR Winston(now Nextel)Cup series, and thought by some to be retired by NASCAR or by Richard Childress(Big E's car owner and friend/hunting buddy)but neither was true as NASCAR does not retire numbers(hence the numbers 43, Richard Petty, and 45, Adam Petty, both run.) Richard Childress said in 2001 that he would not run # 3 again and while yes we have seen two or three times where Dale Earnhardt Jr. has run the number(02 Daytona-win, 02 Charlotte-36th, and 10 Daytona-win) most people thought that those were OK to do because Jr. was driving the same number that he drove to two(2) Busch(now Nationwide) championships(1998,99) and he was driving the car as a tribute to his father. Big E, Dale Sr., The Intim...

Japan/Hawaii/"Disaster Relief" people

By now I'm sure all of you have heard of the earthquake in Japan and the Tsunami threat in Hawaii, which are both VERY bad don't get me wrong I feel very sad for the people who lost their homes, lively hood, and families, BUT on the other hand we know from the past that when something like this happens some people start bogus charities to get money from kindhearted people and then after they take the money the either do nothing with it or they spend it all on themselves. Don't get me wrong I am not saying don't give money to help disaster victims, what I'm saying is give your money to reputable charities like the American Red Cross or anyone listed on the Better Business Bureau has listed. We also know that someone is going to say something they shouldn't while on a international show, but there is no way to stop that. Praying for Japan and Hawaii, Kimberly }{

ONE YEAR

Image
I can't believe it's been more than a year since I started my blog!!!! I also can't believe I missed the actual birthday of my blog :(. Anyway this year has been, well that's another story, this year my extended family has welcomed three babies in to the world, two girls and one boy, we have had our share of health problems, both my extended family and my immediate family, health problems such as broken bones, bad burns, and just declining health, but I KNOW that my family would not have survived this year without God's grace and I KNOW we won't survive this coming year without God's grace. I drove the Nissan Leaf as a school project and let me say I was not impressed. First I had to drive all the way out to the Avenues mall(which is about a thirty to forty minute drive) then after I got out there I had to listen to a bunch of CRAP about global warming and how gas is evil and it was boring, so after all of this I finally get to drive the car. So I go through the course in the mall parking lot and then we go to the office complex type thing across the street and the guy riding with me says: "go ahead and floor it since there isn't anything over here just don't hit any of the others" "floor it" is NOT typically something you want to say to me but the car didn't even cross 40 before I had to stop at the stop sign at the intersection

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas everyone. Next semester I will try to put more stupid stuff up here (if y'all like that your thoughts appreciated) or maybe just some interesting stuff from my school books. I would really like to know what y'all like more the stupid stuff, the rants, or just whatever I find and want to put up. Until next year, Kimberly }{
